AUTOMOTIVE BRAKE PAD

The council is harnessing agro waste of palm kennel shell (PKS) to produce automotive brake pads. The samples of brake pad produced and tested met Standards Organization of Nigeria and United States Standards for brake pad. Field trials were conducted to ascertain the quality of the brake pads in comperism with the imported ones. Results have shown that they are better than casnogenic ones from asbestors. The technology has been patented and commercialization has commenced in collaboration with relevant Company in Lagos State. The project has won an award during the maiden Technology and Innovation Expo organized by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017
