DEVELOPMENT OF FLASH DRYER

The Council supported the Federal Government Policy of 10% inclusion of cassava flour in wheat flour. As part of the support, RMRDC designed and developed air and hydro cyclone software, which was used in the design and development of the flash dryer. Following this breakthrough and the need to tackle the increased demand for flash dryer as well as proliferate the technology, the Council, in collaboration with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and Root and Tuber Expansion Program (RTEP), designed and developed an upgraded version of the flash dryer located at a Farm in Obudu, Cross River State. The technology has been patented preparatory to its full commercialization.
