PROJECT DETAILS: CALCINED KAOLIN

Following are the details of the project:

Nigeria expends about 3 billion Naira annually for the importation of titanium dioxide for the paint industry. Calcined kaolin can partially replace titanium dioxide as an opacifying agent in paint formulation. A 10 ton/day capacity gas suspended calciner was developed to produce calcined kaolin as a partial alternative raw material for imported titanium dioxide used in paint formulation. Some Cement Companies are already using the calcined kaolin as an extender in cement production. The technology is been patented in preparation for its full commercialization.
