NEWS DETAILS: PRESIDENT MOHAMMADU BUHARI COMMISSIONS RMRDC TECHNOLOGICAL AND INNOVATION COMPLEX

It is the dawn of a new era in the nation’s raw materials processing ecosystem as Fmr. President Muhammadu Buhari commissions the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) Prof. H. D. Ibrahim Technology and Innovation Complex in Abuja recently.

Speaking at the official commissioning of the complex at the Obasanjo Space Centre Lugbe, the President represented by the Fmr. Minister of the Fedral Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (FMSTI) Senator Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora stated that the occasion was historic, marking the beginning of a fresh vista for the manufacturing sector in Nigeria.

He said the complex symbolizes the nation’s unwavering commitment to scientific and technological advancement and a new era of possibilities for Nigeria.   

While commending the efforts of the Director General RMRDC, Prof. Hussaini Doko Ibrahim, the Minister stated that commissioning the complex is a milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards industrialization and technological self-reliance, “It stands as a symbol of our dedication to harnessing our raw materials for economic prosperity and sustain able development’’ he said.

Sen. Adeleke further stated that the Centre will foster innovation, nurture cutting edge technologies and accelerate the commercialization of projects that hold the key to our industrial future.

“The RMRDC Technology & innovation complex will serve as a vibrant hub for collaboration as well as research and development (R&D) initiatives to propel Nigeria to a global player in technological advancement and industrial transformation”.

According to him, the complex embodies Nigeria’s vision of creating a thriving ecosystem where research, innovation and entrepreneurship converge, adding that this that will be a model pilot plant development center, to showcase the tangible outcomes of the pioneering R&D efforts of the Council.

Earlier in his remark, the Hon. Minister of State FMSTI, informed that the complex is a symbol of our collective vision to harness the vast potential of our resources and propel the nation to new heights of industrial development.

He also said that it is a testament to the ingenuity and dedication of scientists and researchers who have worked tirelessly to translate their ground-breaking ideas into tangible outcomes.

The Minister however charged Journalists to be optimistic in their approach to news reporting, prioritize dissemination of information that will promote growth and development than place emphasis on negative publicity of MDAs.  

In her vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary FMSTI, Mrs Monilila Omokunmi Udoh noted that today in history, Nigeria Stands at the cross roads of progress and innovation. She appreciated the management and staff of RMRDC for their efforts and contribution to making this dream a reality.

 “Your collective efforts and unwavering support have made this momentous occasion, and together we will continue to harness the potential of our raw materials to drive economic growth and build a prosperous Nigeria”, she noted.

The Prof H.D Ibrahim Technology & Innovation complex houses various pilot plant for process and value addition to raw materials in Nigeria and this will no doubt meet the yearnings of many local procedures to boost national productivity.
