The RMRDC Director-General, Prof. H. D. Ibrahim mentioned that the Agency has embarked on Projects of economic sustainability to help stem the COVID-19 pandemic.  During a presentation made by him at the joint meeting of the Federal Ministry of Science & Technology and Federal Ministry of Health on COVID-19 pandemic, he confirmed that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been developed according to World Health Organisation (WHO)'s standard.  Prof. Ibrahim confirmed that positive feedback on these equipment which include facemasks, surgery gowns, goggles and gloves have been received from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and other reputable institutions.

In his presentation, Prof. Ibrahim said that samples of the equipment were distributed to Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), World Health Organisation (WHO) and some other local & international reputable institutions to assess the qualities  and standards of the equipment.  He futher said that the raw materials used in producing these equipment were sourced locally while collaborative efforts have been undertaken with indigenous companies to mass-produce these equipment.
