NEWS DETAILS: 1ST RMRDC AND STAKEHOLDERS MEETING ON HALAL CERTIFICATION FOR NIGERIAN PRODUCTS
Following are the details of the news:
The Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council, RMRDC, Dr. HussainiDoko Ibrahim on Wednesday 6th February, 2019 Chaired a stakeholders meeting with some stakeholders the Council is collaborating with to champion HALAL certification for Nigerian products.
The representative of the D.G. and Director of the Planning and Policy Development Department (PPDD) Mrs. Hajara Y. Tanko said that the project which is to be known as the Halal Project of Certification for Nigerian products is designed to increase the international acceptance of Nigerian products by ensuring the meet HALAL specifications. She explained that once Nigerian products meet these specifications they will be awarded HALAL certification, which as an international mark of acceptability for products from all over the world. The certification will increase the acceptance of Nigerian products in the international market.
The HALAL project has representatives of RMRDC, JIBWIS (an Islamic stakeholder) and some Nigerian regulatory bodies as the champions of the project.
