NEWS DETAILS: COMPETITION ON PROCESS EQUIPMENT DESIGN FOR CORPS MEMBERS

Following are the details of the news:

The Raw Materials research and development council in collaboration with National Youth Service Corps Foundation is hosting a competition for corps members on process equipment design, commercialization and entrepreneurship.

Guidelines for candidate project

  1. Identify some of the challenges in raw materials processing for value addition (see listed common operations in raw materials processing)
  2. Pick one or many of those challenges in respect to a particular raw material, be it agro or mineral raw materials (see listed raw materials)
  3. Decide what you are going to do about the challenges that you have chosen, this could be by:
    • Explaining what engineers are already doing (i.e., features of existing process equipment)
    • Creating or explaining your ideas for your own solutions (intend features of your own process equipment or product that stand you out)
  4. Review what you have done
  5. Present your ideas, this could be in any one or two of the following format:
    • Power point presentation of CAD design, drawings, annotation and any other
    • Simple model of the equipment
    • Prototype

Project submission:

The complete corps project work and the key information would be submitted to a given E-mail or an online platform to be specified

Applicant can visit RMRDC website (www,rmrdc,gov.ng) for list of raw materials, some project work on processing equipment, Council’s activities and other relevant information

Applicant can also visit any of the 37 RMRDC state coordinating offices across State capitals and FCT
