The Raw Materials Research and Development Council will be holding a press briefing to herald the commencement of plans for the 3rd Nigerian Raw Materials Exposition, tagged NIRAM EXPO 2017. The press briefing comes up alongside the press briefing for the Nigeria Manufacturing Expo (NME), which is also held in collaboration with the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and the Multimodal West Africa Event, at the MAN HOUSE, Ikeja, Lagos on Wednesday 25th of January, 2017 from 10:00am.

The co-located press briefing is the first, coming as a result of the agreement entered with the Clarion Event, which allows the Clarion Events West Africa (CEWA) organize the next two editions of NIRAM Expo. Consequently and in order to allow NIRAM Expo gain from large economy of scale on exhibition as practiced in other advanced countries, the organizer will co-locate the next edition of NIRAM Expo with the NME and Multi-Modal West Africa. The three events would now come up at the Landmark Event Center, Victoria Island, Lagos from 14 to 16 of March, 2017.

You may recall that NIRAM Expo was initiated by the Raw Materials Research and Development Council in partnership support from relevant stakeholders, namely: Bank of Industry (BOI), Nigeria Export-Import Bank (NEXIMBANK), Bank of Agriculture (BOA), Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Association of Nigeria (SMEDAN), the Organized Private Sector is been represented by Dangote Group and the Lagos State Government will be represented by the Office of Oversea Affairs & Investment (Lagos Global). The event also enjoys tremendous support from all Business Membership Organization, such as MAN, NACCIMA, NASME, NASSI.

The thrust of NIRAM Expo is to provide a conducive platform for easier procurement of industrial resources and raw materials by the manufacturing industries while also creating unique platform for synergy and networking among all stakeholders engaged in the raw materials value chain in Nigeria.

The objectives of NIRAM Expo are as follows:
• To provide opportunity for synergy among stakeholders in the raw materials value chain aimed at enhancing local raw materials for manufacturing.
• To provide unique platform for producers of raw materials to showcase them for the benefit of the manufacturing sector of the economy.
• To provide conducive atmosphere for trading in raw materials value chain by constituting Business-to-Business meetings among interested parties.
• To provide the means through which R&D efforts would be commercialized.
• To help enhance the growth and development of resource-based MSMEs.

The partnership with Clarion Events West Africa is to ensure that NIRAM EXPO attain a world class event status benefiting from the proven capacity and experience of Clarion Event in organizing similar Trade Fairs and Exhibitions within and outside the shores of Nigeria. The co-location would sustain the event and allow exhibitors and participants have a rare privilege of international exposure to raw materials, processing equipment and logistics support under one roof; thus providing cheaper procurement of raw materials and equipment as well as professional consultancy in a convenient environment.
